Synopsis

The optimistic Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) is about to learn that fantasy doesn't always mesh with reality. After a stint in Haiti with her pastor boyfriend, Mindy returns to New York City, only to find that her relationship with Dr. Danny Castellano (Chris Messina) is more complicated than ever before. In this surprising second season, Mindy struggles to get in shape, fast-track her career, and find love in the most unexpected places.

		The second season begins with Mindy being rushed back to New York from Haiti after falling ill, only to find that Shulman & Associates has hired a dashing new ob-gyn (James Franco) who also happens to be a former model and a sex therapist with advice for Danny and Christina.

		As if Mindy's long-distance relationship with Casey isn't hard enough, now she has to deal with her new nemesis, Dr. Paul Leotard, taking over the office. Meanwhile, Danny discovers a new pastime in the wake of his breakup with Christina.
03		Music Festival	1 October 2013
		Casey has an identity crisis after returning from Haiti and decides to become a DJ, so Mindy and her colleagues attend a music festival where he's appearing, but the freewheeling atmosphere leads to one mishap after another. Meanwhile, Jeremy hires a new doctor who draws Mindy's ire after he performs an emergency delivery.

		Morgan claims that anyone who sleeps with him will fall madly in love—with someone else—immediately after the encounter, so Mindy decides to take the plunge, but when she backs out at the last minute, Morgan sues her for sexual harassment.

		Mindy begins dating an Arts and Culture writer, however when he discerns that she is not cultured enough for him, she decides to invite him to Christina's art show, which features nude photos of Danny.

		Mindy tags along for a guys' night out at what she thinks is MoMA, aka New York's Museum of Modern Art, but it's actually an MMA fight.

		Mindy goes on a date with a free-spirited skateboarder after Danny tells her she's too picky and judgmental. Meanwhile, Jeremy gets a visit from his father, who seems to like Peter more than his son.

		Mindy reveals her crush to Danny, who thinks she's talking about him instead of a lawyer named Cliff. Meanwhile, Morgan and Peter find Mindy's phone and answer a text message from Cliff, but they start a conversation they may not be able to finish.

		A public-relations fiasco ensues after Danny asks one of his patients to write about the practice on her mommy blog, but she turns out to be a white supremacist. To take control of the situation, they hire a PR guru to give Danny media training, but she winds up seducing him.

		Mindy's philandering ex-boyfriend Josh invites her to his wedding, and in her haste to find a date settles on Peter, who turns out to be an ideal companion—until he makes one huge blunder. Meanwhile, Danny's younger brother pays a visit and a has a big announcement to make.

		Mindy throws a Christmas bash for all of the building's businesses so she can spend more time with Cliff, but Brendan's date zaps Mindy's holiday spirit with a seductive rendition of "Santa Baby" for the guests.

		With Danny as her fitness coach, Mindy is determined to get in shape for her winter getaway. Jeremy begins using some of his leftover sick days and places Peter in charge as managing partner in his absence.

		Jeremy sends Mindy, Danny, Peter and Morgan to Los Angeles to receive cosmetic injectables certification. Once there, Danny becomes concerned about running into his father, and Mindy runs into her ex-fiancé, Casey.

		Following their breakup, Mindy is determined to return to New York to win Cliff back, however Danny tricks her into accompanying him to meet his estranged father. Meanwhile, Peter and Morgan get stuck in the bathroom at the hospital.

		Jeremy and Peter concoct a scheme to poach patients from a rival practice that closed; Mindy and Danny face the consequences of their moment of intimacy.Mindy must figure out how to gently end her recently rekindled relationship with Cliff.

		Jeremy and Peter devise a plan to poach patients from a competing practice that has shut down. Then, Mindy discovers an incriminating video of herself that is floating around the internet, and she enlists the help of Peter to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. Danny becomes ill with meningitis.

		Mindy and Danny try their hand at dating. But they discover that redefining their relationship isn't as easy as they thought it would be, especially when the pharmaceuticals representative whom Danny used to date re-enters the picture. Then, a high-profile doctor and Mindy's idol, tries to poach her.
18		Girl Crush	8 April 2014
		Mindy deals with her break-up with Danny. Mindy forms a girl crush on an Obgyn to the stars, Sheila Hamilton. The doctors from Shulman's Women's Health Associates head to an under-served community to offer free check-ups, in a medical bus to perform free breast exams for women on the streets of East Harlem.
19		Think Like a Peter	15 April 2014
		Peter encourages Mindy to think more like a player. To test his advice, they head out to a bar, where they meet Lee (guest star Max Greenfield), a smooth-talking first-grade teacher who is up to no good. Meanwhile, Danny tries to give relationship advice to Tamra.
20		An Officer and a Gynecologist	22 April 2014
		Mindy has a run-in with the law when a surly police officer admonishes her for giving his young daughter birth control pills. Meanwhile, Danny befriends a rabbi who offers to refer his congregation to Schulman & Associates because he thinks Danny is Jewish.
21		Girl Next Door	29 April 2014
		Danny offers Mindy the opportunity to buy the other condo he owns in his building, but gets jealous when she begins to date Charlie, the police officer. Meanwhile, Peter dates a brain surgeon whom he fears may be too mature for him.

		After exchanging a flirty stare with a gorgeous guy in the subway, Mindy is full of joy knowing the guy is actually looking for her by describing Mindy's appearances in the newspaper. Out of plain curiosity, Mindy tries to contact the guy and turns out that he asks her out on a date. Everyone at the office freaks out and starts warning Mindy.
